After approximately 10 years of experimenting with various foundation brands, I’ve found my holy-grail foundation that does what it claims!
Nowadays, it’s normal to see high school girls, heck, even middle school girls have a full face of makeup on as if they’ve gone to a professional makeup artist daily. This generation of preteens and teens are professionals at doing their makeup.
However, there was a time when I was growing up, my girlfriends and I walked around looking like a bunch of clowns. We were experimenting with all sorts of brands, buying cosmetics on a whim, not knowing what or how to use makeup products. We were experimental and naïve.
After almost 10 years experimenting with various foundation brands and that too as an ethnic person, I finally found my favourite foundation in my early twenties. It is ESTEE LAUDER’S STAY-IN-PLACE DOUBLE WEAR FOUNDATION. My holy-grail foundation.
QUICK FACTS ABOUT THIS FOUNDATION:
It’s a 24 hour long-wear foundation YES FROM EXPERIENCE IT LASTS 24 HOURS. I once worked overnights at a bakery and then days at Wal-Mart — it lasted all that
It’s WATERPROOF -- it survived my water park excursion
It’s TRANSFER-RESISTANT so won’t get on all your white clothes.
It LASTS in HOT AND HUMID weather -- yup I can vouch for that because it stayed-in-place during my trip to South East Asia
It’s a LIQUID MATTE foundation -- for girls with oily skin it is a holy grail and those with dry skin — it’s not too drying so perfect
It’s non-acnegenic so it’s supposed to not clog pores. I personally don’t have issues with acne so can’t speak on this.
It’s dermatologist-tested -- this simply means skin-care professionals have given it a pass
It’s FRAGRANCE-FREE
WHY I LOVE THIS FOUNDATION:
This foundation DOES what it claims — it LASTS 24 hours — it withstood humid weather when I was vacationing in Cambodia and Thailand, it stayed on my face throughout water rides at a large water park (yes I wore foundation to a waterpark), and it even stayed-in-place during emotional tearful relationship fights. IT DOES LAST!
It is medium-to-full coverage which means I never LOOK CAKEY!
It’s matte finish yet NOT DRYING which is RARE to find because I have combination skin so it’s hard to find a product that could balance both. This is a matte foundation that isn’t too drying.
I actually use this as a holy grail foundation. I live in Japan and it is not easily accessible so I cherish these and only use it for special occasions.
They have a great shade range. I wear the shades Bronze (5W1) and Rich Caramel (5W2). They recently released Cinnamon (5W1.5) which I have yet to try.
